HAPHEAD is an eight-part, neo-noir webseries from Postopian Pictures.

A cyberpunk webseries about a girl who's literally empowered by videogames. In 2025, games are so immersive that teenagers learn skills just by playing. After she enables the haptics, Maxine's favourite rabbit-ninja fighting game gets a whole lot more punishing, with the new tech beating skills into her muscle memory. Which is good: she needs to level up quick once her employer discovers her on-the-job theft...

The Team: Postopian Pictures

Director: Tate Young

Creator & Writer: Jim Munroe

Producers: Sean Lerner & Anthony Cortese

Starring: Elysia White, David Straus, Jonathon Robbins, Kwame Kyei-Boateng, Joanne Jansen

Haphead is the brand new project by the team behind Ghosts With Shit Jobs. While the community-powered feature only cost $4,000 to make, it went on to raise $20,000 on Kickstarter to fund a 25 city tour — from its UK premiere where it won Best Feature at Sci-Fi-London to the Beijing International Film Festival.

Wired enthused: “Excellent... science fiction is not dead. It’s just moved from the cinema to the internet.” Never losing sight of its human characters, Haphead is as much about subcultural scenes as it is about disruptive technology.

Haphead is way better than it has any right to be. Little gems of technosocial extrapolation glitter throughout Munroe's screenplay: upscale malls with perky automated security systems, apologetically refusing entry to consumers with “mixed-income backgrounds”; insurance companies with their own paramilitary SWAT teams to go after false claimants. The plot itself— at first glance a straightforward lefty bit of capitalist-bashing— takes turns you might not expect... Star Elysia White is a real find; whether Max is mourning or raging, pondering some mystery or cracking wise, her performance is spot-on throughout.”

Nice to know, but I think the unsaid part of the question is "where?" or "why can't I?". I am also in the same situation, to be clear, and irked that I can't DL.
